Do I need specialized tools?
No! You can build the entire structure with a table saw (or circular saw), miter saw, and a drill. We designed it around standard lumber found at any hardware store.

Yes! The Thiosphere™ is Open Source under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. You are free to modify, manufacture, and sell units based on this design.
Is the material list accurate for 2026 prices?
We estimate ~$500 for the core structural lumber. Plywood/sheathing costs vary by region. The handbook includes a dynamic calculator link to check current local prices.
